Living Hope Calvert

Romans 15:13

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Our Mission

Loving God by Loving People

20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

I John 4:20-21

Our Vision

Grow in Faith, Community and Ministry

At Living Hope Calvert, we believe that growing in faith happens everyday as we continue to seek for and experience God’s saving grace in the lives of His people.  We grow in community as a strong family of believers within the church and as partners within the community at large as we spread the message of the good news of Jesus Christ.  We grow in ministry first by our willingness to be discipled and then by maintaining our missional status to disciple and love the bruised, battered and the broken all around us, those the Lord is calling out of darkness, into His marvelous light.

One God

We believe there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4 ). He is the creator of heaven and earth and of all living beings. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (Creator), as the Son (Savior), and as the Holy Ghost (indwelling Spirit).

Water Baptism

We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin.  Through baptism we identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Romans 6:3-6; Colossians 2:11-14; Acts 2:38).

Gifts of the Spirit

We believe in the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He ministers to His people through tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy; words of knowledge and wisdom, discerning of spirits, faith, working of miracles, healing, helps and government (Mark 16:15-18; Acts 5:16;  II Corinthians 12:1-11).

Spirit Baptism

We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues (Acts 2:4).
